November is an exciting month, a celebration of fall and gratitude.  November also highlights National Parent Involvement Day!  This is an annual opportunity for schools and families to honor and highlight the powerful contributions of parents and caregivers to support student performance.  It is always important to recognize and celebrate the partnership between schools and families year-round and this day is a great way to invite our communities to lift some of the remarkable things happening across our campuses. PLAN is committed to celebrating school and family partnerships, and we recognize this partnership is the ideal foundation for supporting students to thrive.

Bay Area PLAN parents promote involvement and volunteering at their local school!

OAKLAND, Calif. – Bay Area PLAN will be launching National Parental Involvement Day by hosting pre-day tour of a local public school for parents and ask them to commit to volunteering as an example of what schools can do annually to promote parent engagement.  Activities like these provide a way of recruiting more volunteers and time to honor the powerful contributions parents and caregivers provide when involved in their local schools.  The importance of this day is to highlight how parental involvement could build strong schools when systems are in place to facilitate parent contributions all year long.

When - Tuesday, November 14th, 8:30am for an assembly and breakfast and tour starting at 9-11am “Tour of School & learn about volunteer opportunities,” at Library, Madison Park Academy, Lower Campus - 400 Capistrano Dr, Oakland, CA 94603.
